By The Sea Life started with a simple frustration: most coastal travel writing reads like it was assembled from the same five stock photos. We wanted something closer to what a friend who actually lives near the water would tell you, tides, off-season crowds, and all.
We publish across six coverage areas: coastal destinations, beach towns, seaside escapes, coastal homes, beach house interiors, and seafood and coastal food. Each piece is meant to hold up whether you're planning a weekend trip or just daydreaming about living closer to the water.
We don't present every beach destination as an untouched paradise, and we don't invent hotel stays or restaurant visits we didn't actually have. If a beach is eroding or a town's off-season is genuinely quiet, we say so. Coastal communities are places people live, not just backdrops, and we try to write about them that way.
